Emma Heiðarsdóttir is preoccupied with the spaces and structures that frame our everyday existence. Intuitively she goes into unknown territories where thought becomes intertwined with the materiality of spaces and objects. In her way of working, the surrounding space of the artwork informs the work in various ways and cannot be completely separated from it. This attitude has inclined her to make site-specific works that deal with the shifting boundaries between architecture and sculpture, art and life.
